Während der Kolonisierung Lateinamerikas wurde der Bevölkerung der Maya-Kulturen im Südosten Mexikos eine heteronormative Geschlechterkonstruktion aufgezwungen, die versuchte, jegliche Sexualität außerhalb dieser Konstruktion zu unterdrücken. Mit Dr. Rúb(en) Solís sprechen wir über Erfahrungen nicht-binärer Seinsweisen in den heutigen Maya-Kulturn und laden zum Gespräch ein.

„What we can learn from the Maya population of Southeast Mexico“ with Dr. Rub(en) Solis and Anna Anger – in Cooperation with fembi e.V.

During the colonisation of Latin America, a way of being was imposed on the population of the Maya cultures in Southeast Mexico that presupposed a heteronormative gender construction and attempted to suppress any sexualities outside of this construction. Yet to this day, their original diversity of non-binary ways of being remains and highlights perspectives outside the colonial gender norm. At this discussion evening, we would like to talk with Dr Rúb(en) Solís about the experiences of non-binary ways of being in today’s Maya cultures and cordially invite you to come along, listen and exchange ideas with us.
